Location: The hotel is located in a very quiet part of the island, and is very easily reachable - just near the road (the road is very quiet, almost without traffic, besides the living part is separated from the rode by the owner’s building and a great number of plant. There's also a parking on the territory. The hotel itself is located near the seaside, and it has its own beach. It's stony, but the access to the sea is very comfortable. The beach is very clean. The water is absolutely transparent – you can observe numerous fishes. The hotel has its own lounges and beach umbrellas, but there's no need in umbrellas, since the centuries-aged sycamore trees can easily give you a good shelter and cool shadow. Design We enjoyed the hotels appearance as well as interior of the rooms. The whole complex is made in a classical Greek style. The hotel itself is very small, containing 16 rooms. It is absolutely free from pomp, very cozy and pleasant. The living complex is located in such way, that all the rooms have the sea-view and the balconies are oriented to the north, therefore it's never too hot on the balcony. The balconies, by the way, are large, and offer you apart from the standard table with chairs the folding sofa-bed, where you can lie and listen to the cicadas and the sound of the surf. The hotel is practically full of the green, from the giant sycamore trees to the palms and lovely flowers. You can often encounter rather big, but absolutely harmless lizards, strolling around the territory. One species is just magnificent - emerald green with blue head. The furniture is not high-end, but is made of the natural wood. There's a private mini-kitchen in every room, with the minimal kitchen set. Tap water is absolutely clean (spring) and you can boldly drink it (as well as everywhere on the island). Service Excellent. The owners of the hotel are very nice elderly Greek couple. They are very sincere, heartfull and well-wishing people. They helped us very much to return our suitcase that was lost during the flight (without their support it would be very problematic to send the suitcase to the route “Thessaloniki - Alexandroupolis - Samothrace”). You can cook yourself in the inner kitchen, or you can have a nice breakfast on the quiet veranda . You'll be served by the nice girl named Olga, she speaks English and Russian. The breakfast menu is not various, but everything is home-cooking (except the sausage). Mainly, you can have farmer’s yogurt, eggs, cheese, feta, honey, self-made marmalade and so on. But one thing deserves a special reference - coffee. Natural, Greek, freshly welded, not in the thimble-looking 30-mls cups, but in the big mug. The fact to mention - there’s almost no black tea in Greece. You can, of course, find Turkish tea, but it's not like the black one, and it's rather nasty. So if you want to drink normal black tea - simply take it with you. Notably, I once asked Olga to double my coffee portion - since that day she cooked the full cezve for me absolutely for free. Facilities There's no restaurant, no bar, no swimming pool. This hotel is NOT for people, that like noisy parties. Instead there's a barbeque and shashlik brazier in public access. The firewood can be found in on the beach. Next to it there's a hammock and a volleyball court. On the island you can find many taverns, the hostess can recommend you the good ones (where you can taste delicious goat's meat, as there are thousands of goats on the island. Or fresh fish and seafood –depending on your choice). The only point you should consider, is that the nearest taverns are in about 8 km away, so you should take care of a car, bike or a cycle. Though there is one bus, it has a strict schedule, and it goes rather rarely. Resume This hotel is definitely the best choice for those, who admire wild nature, crystal sea water, comfortable and domestic atmosphere, privacy and calm.
